Community Services Needs Help ‘Adopting’ Families

The Orange Community Services Department is asking people to “adopt” a resident family or elderly person in need for the holidays.

Families in need who wish to participate are asked to send a wish list to the Community Services Department. Gift ideas can range from toys and clothing to grocery gift cards and food baskets.

The identities of the recipients are kept private to protect their privacy.

The donation cutoff dates are Nov. 14 for Thanksgiving gifts and Dec. 19 for Christmas gifts. These dates are for delivering donations to the Community Services office.

Monetary donations to the Community Assistance Fund also are accepted. This funds covers all of the Community Services Department’s programs.

Checks can be sent to The Town of Orange Community Services Department at High Plains Community Center, 525 Orange Center Road, Orange, CT 06477.
