Miller was honored for her work in the community during a celebration at Cellini Design Jewelers, 464 Boston Post Road, Orange, on May 5. As an appreciation for her charitable efforts, she was awarded a nearly unique charm bracelet from Endless Jewelry by the company’s CEO, Jesper Nielsen.

The Jesper Nielsen Endless Spirit Award is a special bracelet charm valued at $2,000. Only 300 will be made, and the design will not be available in the Endless Jewelry catalog. They are only to be given as awards.

Miller was chosen from among four candidates in Orange.

“This is a very nice charm that nobody but you and 299 other women have,” Nielsen said as he handed Miller the award.

Nielsen, a former executive with the Pandora brand of charm bracelets, comes from outside of Copenhagen, where his family donates to the their community by building sports fields and contributing to the arts. He said the act of giving tends to return an ample amount of joy to his life.

“This is an award to give something to show appreciation to people who do things in the community that go unnoticed,” said Bobby Bengivengo of Cellini Design Jewelers before announcing Miller had won.

“We give this to someone who just does it because they have a warm and giving heart,” Nielsen said.

Miller participates in various organizations in town and is an active member of the Lions Club. She also contributes a column to The Orange Times where she discusses the charitable deeds of the Lions Club.

As the event was held on Cinco de Mayo, refreshments on hand included margaritas and taquitos to keep in theme.
