Peck Place School PTO Announces 4th Annual 5K

The PTO for the Peck Place Elementary School in Orange, CT is planning its fourth annual Peck Place Panther Pounce 5k road race. The run/walk will take place this year on Saturday, May 14, 2016, beginning and ending at the High Plains Community Center, 525 Orange Center Road, Orange, CT.

Computerized timing and results by HI-TEK Racing, LLC. Early registration goes through May 11 at http://www.hitekracing.com/peckplace/.

Preregistration is $25 for adults ($35 Race Day) and $10 for students, all pre-registered participants will receive a swag bag and a T-shirt. Day of race registration starts at 7:30am on May 14th and the start of race is 9 a.m.

After the race, runners will enjoy food from Subway, Smoothie King, Julia’s Bakery and Trader Joe’s.

Entertainment will be provided by CT’s own favorite radio station WPLR 99.1. An awards ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. and all participants will be entered into a post-race raffle for gift certificates, gift baskets and other wonderful items including a week of baseball camp at Northeast Baseball School. Adults that finish first in their category will receive a one year membership to Planet Fitness.

In addition to spending the morning exercising in the fresh air, parents will also be able to meet with CT CHIP. The CT CHIP program is a comprehensive child identification tool designed to give families a measure of protection. Each family who participates in the CHIP program will receive a Purple Pack with a copy of their child’s fingerprints along with other important information. This program provides families with a sense of security.

All proceeds from this event support academic and enrichment activities at the Peck Place School.
