Police Ask For Assist To Help Battered Women’s Shelter

The CT Association of Women Police (CAWP), has asked area Police Departments to participate in a Toiletry Drive to support a local shelter in need of assistance this season. The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services{{more}} runs a safe house program which provides an anonymous shelter for battered women and children. This is the Center that will provide service to our own citizens when they are needed. The Orange Police Department is happy to support this program with this drive.

A collection box has been placed in the lobby of Police Headquarters for items donated by the public and is accessible 24×7.

Some examples of items needed are soap & body wash, toothbrushes & tooth paste, laundry detergent / household cleaners, deodorant, shampoo/conditioner, baby wipes, diapers, adult and children’s over-the-counter medicines.
