Milford Alderman Win Smith was unanimously endorsed July 22 by Milford and Orange Republicans as the party’s probate judge candidate for the Milford-Orange Probate Court.

“It is an honor and a privilege to accept this unanimous endorsement from Milford and Orange to run for judge of probate for the Milford-Orange Probate Court,” Smith said. “This has been a dream of mine for many years and I have spent my entire professional career ensuring that I am ready to properly serve the members of our two great communities as their probate court judge.”

State Rep. Kathy Kennedy nominated Smith, and Milford’s Aldermanic Minority Leader Tony Giannattasio seconded the nomination.

“Win Smith is the most qualified person for this position,” Giannattasio said. “As a lifelong Milford resident and an attorney that has dedicated his legal practice to probate law, Win is the clear choice to be our next probate judge.”

Democrats have yet to formally choose their candidate, though it is expected Smith will face Milford resident Ben Gettinger in the general election on Nov. 2.
