The event drew out thousands of attendees who came to watch the British Invasion Tribute band, which provided two sets of 60s Pop and Rock hits and elaborate costumes, and the Zambelli fireworks, which were set to patriotic music. Some attendees came as early as 9 a.m. to save seats and set up picnic areas under shady trees so they wouldn’t have to endure the 90 degree heat.

All throughout the night, refreshments were provided by Fire Dog, J.P. Kettle Corn, Orange Lion’s Club and Rita’s Ice, while balloons, lighted novelties, popcorn and cotton candy were provided by Action Enterprises.

Though the night was meant to bring people together to celebrate America’s independence, it was also a night “to remember our men and women both here and overseas who defend the right for freedom and for us and others!” said Jim Zeoli, First Selectman of Orange.

All proceeds from the suggested donation of $5 to park benefited the Orange Little League Association.
