Fisher, Kevin Kimm

Kevin Kimm Fisher, 37, of Milford, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2020. Born on February 16, 1983 in Stamford, he was the son of Kimm and Kim Fisher.

Kevin attended Jonathan Law High School, but learned much more from how he lived his life. Kevin lived in each and every moment. He questioned everything he was taught. He always asked how or why. His constant curiosity and desire to blaze his own trail led him down many interesting pathways and to many adventures. Kevin traveled across the US and back many times—surfing the waves on both coasts, hiking in National Parks, and stopping at off-the-beaten-path towns—and enjoyed the freedom and experiences of the open road. Music was the engine to Kevin’s soul. It moved through him and he loved being at live shows surrounded by music and dancing hearts and having that shared experience with a crowd of people he had yet to meet. Kevin was a talented and creative artisan who put his heart into his work: always striving for perfection. Kevin was a kind soul and gave of himself generously to so many. He loved his family and friends with an unmatched fierceness and loyalty.

Along with his parents, Kevin leaves behind his sister, Katy (Michael Alvino) Fisher; uncles and aunts, Tim (Kathy) Fisher, Jessie Fisher, Michael Fisher, Denise (Peter McHugh) Kelly, Freddie (Lori) Kelly, Marianne Kelly, Jill Johnson, and Danny Kelly; many cousins; maternal grandmother, Annabelle Kelly; and friends. With COVID concerns, his family has decided to postpone an in-person celebration until it is safe for all of us. In the near term, they would love nothing more than for you to share with them a memory, a song, a photo, a quote, or anything else you are feeling by sending it to them at KevinFisherMemories@gmail.com.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local animal shelter or rescue organization in Kevin’s name.

Giesey, Allan Wesley Jr.

Allan Wesley Giesey, Jr., 51, of Milford, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2020.

He is survived by his beloved wife, the jelly to his peanut butter, his true love Mechelle (Tremblay) Giesey. He is also survived by his children Marc Auer (Alise), Aaron Giesey, Spencer Giesey, and “The Boy Wonder” Henry James Giesey; mother, Maria Giesey; sisters, Michelle Ciccaglione (Peter), Missy Abdelsame (Sherif), and Sammy Neilson (Dave); brother, Clement Lallier (Nereida); granddaughters Nicole and Brooklyn; and the most beautiful aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews both near and far.

Allan “Butch” worked his whole life to provide for his family. He began as a kid running paper routes, and wore many other hats along the way. He found his passion in the car business and was as good as they get. He met his “Match” late in the game. Mechelle, who swore she would never marry, found her “forever” over a cup of coffee on a snowy night. They were married in 2013 and began their happily ever after.

Al lived his life doing the right thing. He adored his family and friends, he loved getting into trouble with his brother, fishing with his boys, and making everyone around him smile. He loved to go on adventures, to just get in the car and drive. He could whip up the most delicious meal and an even better dessert. More than that, he was there for anyone who needed him.

He died knowing hole in the wall joints often surprise you, how many newspapers can fit in a mini van, how many oysters is too much, and all the Bob Evans’ from West Hartford to Ohio. He knew hard work always pays off, but so does dancing the night away at a wedding on a hot summer night. Being kind and generous is always the right choice. Most importantly, spending time with family is the best gift, and is often taken for granted.

All services will be private at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Laibach, Michele Elizabeth Barry

Michele Elizabeth Barry Laibach, 60, of Milford, adored wife of Robert Laibach, passed away unexpectedly December 4, 2020. Born June 29, 1960, in Milford, she was the daughter of Judith (Amann) Barry and the late Richard Owen Barry.

A graduate of Jonathan Law High School, she attended Central Connecticut State University and spent her professional life in human resources, most recently at Kari-Out in New York. Her technical expertise was coupled with a genuine care for her fellow employees. She had great respect for the dignity of work, a respect learned by seeing her parents’ strong work ethic.

Michele was an independent woman and a great role model for her son, whom she raised on her own. She was strong yet also very sentimental (a well done Hallmark commercial could reduce her to tears.) She loved politics and was a staunch Democrat. She used Facebook to explore family history and actively reengage with friends from her past. She felt an affinity for Milford and particularly loved Fort Trumbull beach.

Technology also led to an unexpected but wonderful later-in-life marriage to Rob, who mourns her profoundly. We all wish she had been given more time to enjoy her marriage and start her well deserved retirement years.

In addition to her loving husband and mother, Michele is survived by her cherished son, Ryan Arthur Barry; her siblings, Sheralee (Craig) Hogberg, Moira (Michael) Lord, and Richard Barry; her nephew, Sean (Courtney) Houley; her dog MoJo and her rescue dogs, Kai and Georgia. She was fortunate to have an extended family that included more than 35 cousins and life-long friends that were like family. In addition to her father, Michele was predeceased by her niece, Amanda Houley.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, a proper celebration of her life will be held during her favorite time – spring flower season. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Out of Darkness (AFSP) or a charity of your choice.

Linda Mae Moquet (Crawford), 68, of Orange, beloved wife of Douglas Raymond Moquet, passed peacefully of natural causes on the morning of December 29, 2020. Born on February 6, 1952 in Orange, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Fred Forneur Crawford and Sally Karr Crawford (Grant).

Linda led a distinguished 35-year career as a product manager and environmental safety specialist at several large corporations, including Procter & Gamble, in Bethel; Seton Identification Products, in Branford; General Electric in Fairfield; and Stauffer Chemical in Westport. From 2006 until her passing, she worked for Duracell, Inc., a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, in Bethel, holding various positions, including North America and Latin America Product Safety Division Manager.

Linda was a proud 1970 graduate of Joel Barlow High School in Redding. She then attended Cazenovia College in Madison County, NY and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies at Quinnipiac University in Hamden. She later earned her Master’s in Environmental Science from Southern Connecticut State University in 1998.

Linda met her husband, Doug, on Anchor Beach in Woodmont, in 1985. Throughout thirty-five years of devoted marriage, they traveled the country and remained faithful companions until the end. Linda was a devoted mother, and took special delight in commissioning her son, Major Douglas Moquet, Jr., into the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps in 2014. Celebrated by her colleagues for making them feel special and appreciated, Linda frequently gave gifts and organized social events for her “work family.” She also coordinated the Barlow Lunch Group, staying connected with her classmates and celebrating their life milestones.

In addition to her many professional and academic accomplishments, Linda enjoyed cooking delicious family meals and caring for the family’s several rescue cats, including the late Mingo, Little Kitty, Jellybean, Meeper, Peeper, Flufkin, Lucy, and Striper. She is survived by her beloved tortoiseshell, Pandy—who was always by her side.

An avid traveler, Linda loved touring Puerto Rico’s northern coast with her husband and vacationing each summer with her extended family on Block Island, RI. For Linda, family attendance at cocktail hour was non-negotiable, along with sunsets, white wine, and littleneck clams. Still, she savored nothing more than moments spent with her sister Debbie and brother-in-law Dennis Bernas; daughter-in-law Sheridan Ribbing; in-laws Jon and Leslie Whitlock; niece Sarah Whitlock, her husband Jessie Schiffrin and their beautiful twins Natalie and Charlotte; and late nephew Mark Whitlock.

Linda had a discerning taste for cuisine and loved dining at her favorite restaurants where she always treated the waitstaff like family. She took special pride in preparing her famous shrimp cocktail, which was a perennial hit at holiday dinners. Naturally beautiful, Linda loved fashion and selecting outfits for herself—but particularly for her husband and son. They will never be without need for her tender love, guidance, and support. She will be sorely missed.

Wallace, Virginia “Ginny” C.

Virginia “Ginny” Crotta Wallace, 97, of Orange, beloved wife of William (Bill) L. Wallace II, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2020. Ginny was born on September 20, 1923 in West Haven, and she was the daughter of the late Paul Chester and Louise (Tosi) Crotta.

Ginny grew up in West Haven surrounded by her large, extended family. She graduated from West Haven High School and worked at the Yale Faculty Club, becoming one of the Assistant Managers before meeting the love of her life, Bill. With Bill, she created a loving, gracious home and travelled the world – first for his work and later with her family or to play golf in exotic places. They recently celebrated their 73nd wedding anniversary. She enjoyed golf and bridge, both of which she played for almost 50 years with good friends at the Racebrook Country Club, where she was also a Women’s Member/Member champion. Ginny also loved the opera – attending the New York Metropolitan Opera often, and listening to the Saturday Exxon broadcast from the Met regularly; filling the house with great music, and amazing voices. Throughout her life, public libraries were also very important to Ginny. Initially as a means to experience the broader world during her childhood and later as a supporter and Board Member of the Case Memorial Public Library in Orange as well as a member of the Connecticut State Library Board.

Friends and family remember Ginny as a gracious, warm, person. “She always asked me about myself and my life, and then she really listened and paid attention to what I said.” “She would answer the phone with a smile in her voice.” “She made me laugh like a teenager, even in recent years, with both of us in our 90’s.”

In addition to her beloved husband, Bill, Ginny is survived by her children,
William L. Wallace, III and Martha (DuBois) Wallace, and Mary Wallace Jaensch; her grandchildren, Andrew and Julie (Monteagudo) Jaensch, Nicholas and Carly (Gordon) Jaensch, Katharine Jaensch, William (Will) L. Wallace IV and Carolyn Wallace as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Max and Theo Jaensch.

The family would like to thank all of the aids who have so carefully and lovingly cared for Ginny during the last several years, and to the Hospice nurses and social workers who made the last few days of her life comfortable and graceful.

All services will be private at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Case Memorial Library in Orange: http://orange.lioninc.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/CML-Gift-Donation-Form.pdf Funds collected in Ginny’s name will be used to buy children’s books for the library.
